I’ve served on boards for a number of years and having digestible information offered in this way was helpful to me and I know it was very helpful for nonprofit leaders new to their boards and especially to the corporate leaders.
Corporations are constantly looking for ways to attract and retain great talent as well as providing opportunities to grow their leadership. Corporations are also increasingly aware that good corporate citizenship is good corporate business!
Nonprofit organizations work hard to enhance community quality of life. To succeed, nonprofits need strong leadership. The Jericho Road Project’s experience and data indicate that nonprofit boards are often compromised because they are understaffed or undertrained and as a result, not as strong as they would like or need to be.
The Leadership Connection is a program of The Jericho Road Project
that bridges nonprofit and corporate needs. It does so by strengthening nonprofit organizations through the training and placing of corporate leaders to serve on nonprofit boards. Board service provides existing and potential employees with an attractive and experiential opportunity for professional growth, allowing them to expand individual leadership skills and professional networks while making a powerful and rewarding contribution to the governance of nonprofit organizations and community quality of life.
To date, The Leadership Connection series has been offered eight times to 104 corporate participants from more than 30 companies.
We are currently offering 5 TLC seminars
in Lowell, Metro West and Worcester.
