The Leadership Connection experience consists of classroom learning followed by experiential learning.
Our classroom learning features a fast-paced and highly participatory learning environment geared for adult learners including dynamic subject matter experts and a case study based curriculum
. The classroom learning also features:
Lively conversations among participating nonprofit board members and corporate executives
A proprietary case-study featuring a nonprofit going through various stages of development.
A comprehensive participant handbook with articles and information about the nonprofit sector, as well as links to valuable tools and resources on board leadership.
A customized match making process that aligns the passion, skills and priorities of the executive with the needs and mission of the nonprofit
The experiential learning begins once an executive is placed on a nonprofit board, and ultimately results in an executive’s enhanced influencing skills, a deep knowledge of a community need and the understanding and of the workings of a nonprofit organization that serves that need.
The experiential learning on a nonprofit board also features:
An enhanced ability to collaborate and lead people over whom you have no authority (i.e. fellow board members).
Meeting and better understanding a broader range of people and their motivations.
The use of a variety of nuanced tools learned in the classroom, including storytelling and appreciative inquiry, with which to better understand, influence and lead others.
Opportunities to use and develop your professional expertise in a new environment.
